A worth of sacrifice

How much of a sacrifice would a father goes to the extend of choosing between saving his only child or saving strangers he does not even know?

I broke down and silently cried after watching this short video.

“for God so love the world, He gave his Only begotten Son, whosoever believes in Him,shall not perish, but have eternal life”
