Law vs faith

Why must use law to “protect” those of your faithful ones? Aren’t they faithful enough to stand on their own, not being misguided by merely written words?
I’ve been walking faithfully in the path and I know what I should put to practise, and I know what I should avoid. If it is uncertain, God will always show the right path.
Rise up and be faithful.
